Thoughts on Anne of Green Gables so far...

Being nearly half way through the book, I have a clear mindset on most of the characters and what they’re like. I can also see particular themes and repetitions beginning to form in the text. So far, I have seen an orphan (Anne) being taken in by a wealthy couple in the country. Anne is also struggling to fit in with the high expectations rest upon her and new routines. It seems Anne has a very vivid imagination and often uses this to pretend things that are happening are not real, or are different. She also uses this imagination to envisage her appearance in a way that she deems more attractive, ignoring her particularly red hair. I am enjoying reading the book as it is quite old fashioned and based on old morals, as well as the theme of rebelliousness which adds excitement and tension to what happens next. :):)
